About Valley Bank

In 1972, a group of local businessmen came together with the desire to create a community bank where decisions would be made locally. They felt strongly about reinvesting in the community along with providing banking services with familiar faces. As a result, Puyallup Valley Bank opened its doors in October 1973.

In 1998 we formed our holding company, Valley Community Bancshares, Inc., so that we could provide additional services to our customers. In 1999 we formed a new bank under our holding company called Valley Bank in Auburn, later adding a branch in Kent.

In 2002 we acquired Puget Sound Mortgage Brokers in Puyallup, providing valuable mortgage services for our clients.

In 2003, our holding company merged operations between Puyallup Valley Bank and our two Valley Bank branches in Auburn and Kent. At that time it was decided to shorten our name from Puyallup Valley Bank to Valley Bank, which better represented the communities we now served.

Today, Valley Bank serves the South King and East Pierce County region of Washington State and we remain committed to the communities we serve with the same good solid banking practices and values we began in 1973.
